I’m fighting off a bit of a cold today, so that means I will be turning to my favorite sick day movies for comfort. These are the film equivalent to a nice cup of hot tea…they always make me feel better (or at least, a little less miserable)!
Auntie Mame
Avoid the Lucille Ball version at all costs. Rosalind Russell is Auntie Mame, accept no substitutes:
Two for the Road
*sigh* this is a great movie, one of Audrey’s best. And if you like Mod fashions, it is required viewing:
To Sir With Love
When Lulu sings the title song, I always, always cry:
The Lion in Winter
Katharine Hepburn & Peter O’Toole bring it! And, this movie has wee baby Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton!
Victor Victoria
When I was in the first grade, my family had a copy of this movie on VHS. It was my favorite, and I would watch it several times a week. So, it will always have a special place in my heart:
Pillow Talk
It is impossible to feel bad when Doris Day is involved. She is sunshine personified.
